C-RED 2 is equipped with a 640 x 512 InGaAs sensor operating in the SWIR (Short Wave Infrared), from 0.9 to 1.7 µm, with a very good Quantum Efficiency over 70%.

C-RED 2 is a revolutionary ultra high speed low noise camera designed for high resolution Short Wave InfraRed
imaging. Thanks to its state of the art electronics, software, and innovative mechanics, C-RED 2 is capable of
unprecedented performances: up to 400 images per second with a read out noise from 10 to 30 electrons.
To achieve these breakthrough performances, C-RED 2 integrates a 640 x 512 InGaAs PIN Photodiode detector
with 15 μm pixel pitch for high resolution, which embeds an electronic shutter with integration pulses shorter
than 1 μs. C-RED 2 is also capable of windowing and multiple regions of interest (ROI), allowing faster image rate
while maintaining a very low noise.
The software allows real time applications, and the interface is CameraLink full and superspeed USB3.
C-RED 2 is designed to be updated remotely, and needs no human assistance to manage the cooling. The camera
can operate in very low-light conditions as well as remote locations.
Designed for high-end SWIR applications, smart and compact, C-RED 2 is operating from 0.9 to 1.7 μm with a very
good Quantum Efficiency over 70%, offering new opportunities for industrial or scientific applications.

C-RED 2 is a 640 x 512 InGaAs camera which outperforms the capacities of its 15 μm pixels high resolution sensor.
Its incredible performance of 10 electrons RON with air cooling, can be further improved with liquid cooling (no LN). The camera manages the cooling automatically, no human assistance is needed.
No other InGaAs camera has ever obtained such a level of performance: it is usually reserved to higher end HgCdTe cryogenically cooled cameras, making C-RED 2 unique compared to its competitors.
Operating on a wavelength from 0.8 to 1.7 µm, the camera has a very good quantum efficiency of 70%. C-RED 2 also offers windowing possibilities and Region of Interest, which allow the camera to go even faster if needed.
The software allows real time applications, and the interface is CameraLink full and USB3. It is also designed to be updated remotely.
C-RED 2 is easily embeddable in any system thanks to its low volume, and can operate in any environment or complex situations.
Smart, compact, with a state of the art cooling system, C-RED 2 is offering the fastest acquisition rate of all InGaAs SWIR cameras for a very sensitive high resolution imaging.
InGaAs sensors (which are hybrids of InGaAs + CMOS components) have been the first sensors used in SWIR imaging. They are the better choice for the 1.1 µm to 1.7 µm wavelength, and can operate at room temperature. Their quantum efficiency of more than 75% above 900 nm helps getting good results even with low signal. Adding a ThermoElectric cooling improves the sensors’ capacities and can also extend their spectral range.
Already used in many fields, InGaAs cameras with 320 x 256 or 640 x 512 pixel sensors offer incredible possibilities. They are usually compact, high-sensitive, high-resolution, with low power consumption, and less cost producing than other cooled SWIR cameras.
So why creating C-RED 2, when other InGaAs cameras already exist?
Because C-RED 2 will revolutionize the market.
When existing cameras can go from 100 to 300 FPS read out speed, C-RED 2 can do better: 400 Frames per second
When existing cameras can offer down to 15 electrons read out noise with LN cooling, C-RED 2 can do better: below 10 electrons Read Out Noise, without LN.
C-RED 2 is ultra fast AND low-noise at the same time, revealing unexplored possibilities in Astronomy, Biological Imagery, or Industry, and much more.
